What started as a small hobby has blossomed into a vibrant sanctuary. We specialize in Dahlias—growing a curated collection of these spectacular flowers known for their intricate petals and breathtaking variety. From the softest pastels to deep, dramatic hues, our gardens provide a stunning, seasonal backdrop to the daily lives of our Golden Retrievers.
Rooted in Care
There is a beautiful parallel between our breeding program and our gardens. Both require patience, a nurturing hand, and an uncompromising eye for quality. Just as we carefully select the genetics for our litters, we meticulously choose our flower varieties to ensure they thrive in our Haliburton climate.
The Vision: Growing Forward
The beauty of a garden is that it is never truly finished. We have big dreams for the Golden Meadow, including the addition of a vegetable garden and a chicken coop. Our goal is to transform our property into a true sensory retreat, offering:
Artisan Goods: Fresh, seasonal bouquets, farm-fresh eggs, and handcrafted sourdough bread.
The Future: We hope to introduce local honey to our offerings one day!
Dahlia Tuber Sales: In late fall or early spring, we offer a limited selection of dahlia tubers for those who wish to bring a piece of Maplelane’s beauty to their own gardens. Please contact us for current availability.
A Family Affair
When you visit us in the summer and fall, you’ll likely find the dogs lounging near the dahlia beds or helping "supervise" the morning harvest alongside my daughter. It is a lifestyle rooted in the land and the seasons, and we love sharing it with our community.
