1. Puppy Head Start
For Puppies Aged 8 Weeks to 5 Months
The first few months of a puppy’s life are the most critical for shaping a confident, well-mannered adult. Our Puppy Headstart is an immersive residency designed for families who want to bypass the "sleepless night" stage and bring home a companion with a sophisticated foundation.
The Curriculum
Crate Mastery: Building a positive association with the crate to ensure your puppy is happy, quiet, and content in their own space.
House Training Foundations: Establishing a solid routine and teaching the puppy to "signal" at the door.
Impulse Control (Leave It): Developing patience through focus games—ignoring dropped food, other animals, and passing distractions.
Reliable Recall: High-value name recognition and enthusiastic check-ins.
Leash Foundations: Learning to walk politely without pulling, building a natural desire to stay close to their handler.
The "Place" Command: Teaching the puppy to settle on a bed or cot until released—the ultimate "off-switch" for a busy home.
Body Handling & Vet Prep: Desensitization to grooming tools and physical manipulation to ensure stress-free vet visits.
Adventure Socialization: Exposure to car rides, traffic, and "in-town" environments like stores and busy sidewalks.
The Pack Hike: Daily hikes in our forest where puppies learn to follow a pack leader and reinforce off-leash check-ins.
The Headstart Experience
This is an all-inclusive program. Your investment covers:
Professional Training Equipment: All tools used during their stay.
Communication: Regular photo/video updates and progress reports so you can watch their growth.
Logistics: Transportation to our vet for scheduled vaccinations (Owner covers vet costs).
Grooming: Every puppy leaves the program freshly groomed.
The Handover: A private, 1-on-1 coaching lesson at pick-up to ensure you can maintain the training at home.
Ongoing Support: Open communication to answer any questions while your puppy gets settled into your home.

2. Advanced Life Skills
For Dogs Aged 6 Months & Older — They're never too old to learn!
Our adult Board & Train program is designed for owners who want to elevate their dog’s manners or resolve frustrating "teenage" behaviors. While puppies are a blank slate, adult dogs often bring established habits that require a more nuanced approach. We provide a structured, immersive environment where your dog can hit the "reset" button and learn to navigate the world with confidence and focus.
The Advanced Curriculum
Along with the foundations mentioned above, This program is tailored to address the complexities of the maturing dog:
Behavior Modification: Identifying and resolving "bad habits" through counter-conditioning and positive reinforcement.
Impulse Control & Neutrality: Teaching your dog to remain calm and neutral in the presence of other dogs, people, and high-distraction environments.
E-Collar Integration: For owners seeking the ultimate "off-leash" freedom, we offer professional E-Collar conditioning as a low-level communication tool for safety and clarity in the outdoors.
Refining Social Skills: Reinforcing appropriate social boundaries within our balanced pack during daily forest adventures.
The Process
Discovery Call: We begin with a free consultation to ensure your dog is a good fit for our home-based program.
Immersive Stay: Your dog lives as a member of our family, enjoying daily forest hikes and structured training sessions.
Grooming: Every dog leaves the program freshly groomed.
The Handover: A private, 1-on-1 coaching lesson at pick-up to ensure you can maintain the training at home.
Ongoing Support: Open communication to answer any questions while your dog settles back into your home.
Investment: Around $900 (+HST) per week, depending on complexity, goals and length of stay. (Average stay: 3–6 weeks).
Requirements for Admission: To maintain a safe and peaceful environment for all guests, dogs must be fully crate trained and non-aggressive toward other dogs.
3. The Total Package
The Ultimate Hybrid Foundation
For families seeking the pinnacle of preparation, we offer The Total Package. This is our most elite training package, designed to support your dog through two of the most critical developmental windows: early puppyhood and the transition into adolescence.
Phase 1: The Early Foundation (Ages 8–14 Weeks): Your puppy stays with us for an additional 4 to 6 weeks beyond the standard pickup date. During this time, we focus on the "heavy lifting" of puppy ownership:
Core Skills: Intensive crate training, house training, and leash foundations.
Socialization: Early exposure to the sights, sounds, and textures of the world.
The Transition: You bring your puppy home at 12–14 weeks old—still young enough to enjoy the "tiny puppy" stage, but old enough to have a solid behavioral head start.
Phase 2: The Adolescent Refinement (Ages 7–12 Months): As your dog enters adolescence, they return to Maplelane for a second immersive residency. Now that they possess a longer attention span and greater physical maturity, we focus on:
Advanced Reliability: Proofing recall and "stay" under high distractions.
Behavior Polishing: Refining manners and addressing any "teenage" habits that may have surfaced.
The Adult Standard: Finalizing the skills needed for a lifetime of off-leash adventures and calm companionship.
Why choose the Hybrid? It ensures your dog receives the right training at the exact age-appropriate times with a trainer they already trust.
Pricing is customized based on the duration of each stay.
Availability & Investment
Due to the intensive nature of our training, we do not accept adult Board & Train guests while we have active litters on-site. This ensures our full attention is dedicated to the developmental needs of our puppies.

Testimonials
Jenny [Latte/Kygo]
Extended Stay & Train puppy program 8 weeks - 5 months old
“Working with Jen has been an absolute pleasure from the very beginning. Months before the litter was born, Jen took the time to get to know our family both virtually and in person, understanding our lifestyle and preferences to assist in selecting the perfect dog personality for our home. Her dedication and attention to detail were evident every step of the way.
Throughout the training process, Jen's expertise shone through as she carefully nurtured our pup's development for the first five months of her life. Paying specific attention to key areas to fit our lifestyle (e.g., recall, settling/place). Not only did she train our pup, but she also took the time to train us as dog owners. We had the opportunity to meet with Jen in person regularly, and she also sent us videos of training sessions with our new pup that we watched as a family, learning alongside our furry companion.
She patiently answered every question we had, providing invaluable guidance and support. Even after we brought our sweet girl home, Jen continued to be a pillar of support, offering advice and assistance whenever needed.
The result? A seamlessly integrated member of our family with a gentle and calm demeanour that perfectly matches our household dynamics - and a family that is/was prepared to give their pup the best life. Jen's commitment to ensuring the well-being of both the pups and their new families is truly remarkable.
We cannot express enough gratitude to Jen for her invaluable assistance in bringing such a wonderful companion into our lives. She's not just a breeder and trainer; she's a true matchmaker who has given us the greatest gift imaginable. We wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking not just a breeder and trainer, but a partner in their journey with their furry family members."
sawyer [Queenie/Brew]
Board & Train with ecollar - 3 weeks
"We had purchased our pup from Maple Lane Goldens and immediately fell in love. He became such an important part of our home and family. As he grew older, and after several weeks of in class training, we noticed some behaviours that we were having trouble keeping up with. These main behaviours were loose leash walking and recall. He was definitely pulling while on walks and would lose his recall when there was any sort of distraction. Our pup, at a year and a half old and still intact, went back to Maple Lane for some e-collar training. We got our boy back and noticed a significant difference in his all around behaviour. Loose leash walking is no longer an issue and his recall is incredible. The e-collar training for both the pup and the humans has been a game changer. The e-collar gets used for other commands and behaviours than just the walking and recall, which make this adventurous pup more trustworthy and reliable. We wish that we did the training sooner! Thank you to Jen"
ash [outside kennel]
puppy board & train - 4 weeks
We brought home our beautiful golden retriever puppy when he was 9 weeks old from a different breeder. We were struggling with demand barking and crate training. We reached out to Jen, and our boy Ash spent one month with her. Our focus was crate training, but after one month with Jen, we got so much more! When we brought him home, Ash was crate trained, knows many commands such as sit and leave it, is very good with leash walking, and has mastered place training!! Jen kept us up to date with all of the experiences and training she was working on with Ash. She sent videos so we were able to see exactly how she was doing everything. We are over the moon with how well trained and behaved he is. Jen set us up to have an amazing life with Ash, and we are forever grateful!! We are still in touch as things come up with him, and it is so wonderful to have support throughout the many changing puppy phases. We can not recommend and thank Jen enough!
Layla [Fritter/Floki]
Board & Train with ecollar - 3 Weeks
Having Layla train with MapleLane has been very rewarding. I have seen firsthand how consistency and positive reinforcement have helped Layla understand that good behavior is rewarded and makes her want to keep up her good work.
Her leash pulling was making it stressful to take her for walks. Now I enjoy our time and look forward to each walk as a learning experience.
I can't believe I have a dog who can go off leash and come back! I never thought it was possible and was very nervous. But her training has given us that freedom.
I would highly recommend the stay and train for anyone struggling with leash pulling, puppy nipping, place holding and listening skills to name a few.
We will 100% have Layla stay again for boarding and any further training we feel she might need along the way. Jen is extremely hands on and responsive once you bring your dog home which has been very helpful. The videos and notes are a great reference to keep up all they learn. It's been an invaluable tool to have someone like Jen train Layla!
